How it works
The National Employment Standards, the rules on casual employment, payment of wages, the right to disconnect and unfair dismissal: 161 sections of the Act, split into 245 passages. Each question is matched two ways, by keywords and by meaning, and the two rankings are merged; a language model then reorders the top 15 by how directly they answer it. The answering model may only use those passages, must cite them, and must say so when the Act does not answer the question, as with dollar figures like the minimum wage, which the Fair Work Commission sets.
Before anything goes live it is tested on 105 plain-English questions with checked answers. The method comparison and the answer scores are in the project README.
